Treasure Island
Las Vegas, NV, USA
Wynn Resorts | 1993
Brief
Developed by casino owner Steve Wynn through Mirage Resorts as a family-oriented thematic follow-up casino to Wynn’s Mirage.
Designed during a period of extreme theming for Las Vegas casinos, Treasure Island maximized the pirate theme with interactive experiences and two real ships on a man-made lagoon overlooked by a thematically designed promenade.
Free pirate battles were performed daily for spectators over the next two decades. For the first time, the front of a casino was a backdrop for a stunt show done on the Vegas strip, a concept that would be come extremely popular.
Brock Larsen designed the theming for the main entry, porte cochere and center of the front facade.
