Brock Larsen, Founder + Principal

Brock Larsen founded BLD in 2001, after over a decade working on the highest profile projects with Walt Disney Imagineering and Universal Studios. Since then, BLD has provided numerous clients around the globe with master planning, design, and full environmental architecture services. The projects that continue to attract us today are ambitious, innovative, and imaginative.

Educated in Industrial, Product & Environmental Design at the Arts Center College in Pasadena, CA, Brock Larsen began his career in LA, working with ABC on the 1984 Olympics broadcast, Fields & Silverman in Beverly Hills, and Rachlin & Rachlin in LA on residential projects. His interest and skill in environmental architecture soon led him to his first contract with Walt Disney Imagineering in 1990, working on the Alien Encounter Project. From 1990 to 2001, he worked on major projects with Disney and Universal Studios in the U.S., East Asia, and the Middle East, including projects at Universal Studios Orlando and Disneylands in California, Tokyo, and Hong Kong.

Since 2001, BLD has continued to work globally with internationally renowned collaborators and on some of the biggest names in IP, including Despicable Me, Lara Croft, Spongebob, and Mission Impossible. Since 2020, BLD has acted as a key creative direction and design partner to SELA, a Saudi Arabian firm bringing some of the world’s best-known brands to audiences in Saudi Arabia, on over 40 projects.
